The West Long Branch Mayor and Council voted July 1 to apply for $250,000 in Monmouth County Open Space Trust Funds to finance pickleball and soccer field improvements at Sorrentino Park (Block 19, Lots 39–41). The resolution, approved unanimously, designates Borough Administrator Jason Gonter to submit the application and sign any resulting grant contract.
According to the resolution, the total cost of the project including all matching funds is $500,000; the borough committed to provide the non-county matching funds required by the county program. The council’s authorization directs the administrator to provide any additional information the county requests and to act as the municipal contact for the application.
