Staff provided routine economic and development updates: a handful of new business openings and active single‑family construction across the city.
Nicole (speaker 5) listed recent and pending openings, including salon suites and a medical group on Sample Road; she also said a bakery at 3150 Plaza was close to receiving its final inspections. "It looks like a couple more salons in the JC Salon Suites building, a medical group on Sample Road, the bakery, in the 3100 Plaza," she said. Dave (speaker 9) added that the city is seeing an unusually high number of single‑family filings and predicted the year could set a 10‑year record for new single‑family residences.
Committee members noted that infill and small commercial activity are picking up and said the staff updates and the committee’s recommendations could help support business retention and recruitment efforts.
