Tarkington Independent School District received a Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) rating of "Superior Achievement," scoring 98 out of 100 points, Chief Financial Officer Thad Lasater told the board during a public hearing Dec. 15.
The rating reflects the district's financial accountability indicators for the assessed period. The acceptance of the FIRST report was placed on the agenda as an action item later in the meeting and recorded as approved (voting summary: Yea 4, Nay 0, Absent 3). The board did not list additional management actions or conditions tied to the rating in the minutes.
