The Zillah City Council on June 16 approved Resolution No. 2025‑13 authorizing a fireworks-stand permit for American Legion Post 130 to sell fireworks from July 1 through July 4, 2025. Councilmember Wes Argo moved the resolution and Councilmember Doug Stewart seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Separately, City Administrator Michael Grayum reminded residents that anyone planning to discharge fireworks at home must obtain a fireworks permit by 4:45 p.m. on July 3; Grayum also noted that Cemetery Park is an area where residents may discharge fireworks without a permit during July 4 festivities. The minutes do not specify enforcement mechanisms or penalties.
