Village staff reported that an outside consultant reviewed 68 tax grievance petitions and recommended denial and dismissal—mostly for procedural issues such as missing signatures or required documentation. The board, sitting as the board of assessment review, moved to deny the petitions, the motion was seconded and the board approved the denials by voice vote.
Staff (speaker 8) told residents that petitioners who disagree may appeal to the county Supreme Court's tax division (SCAR) within 30 days of April 1 or within 30 days of the meeting date, whichever applies. The consultant recommended denial of all 68 petitions after reviewing the submitted materials; trustees voted to follow that recommendation.
The board did not discuss individual petition merits on the record; staff advised residents how to appeal if they wished to pursue further review.
