Henrico Board honors Anthony Romanello and Robert Witte; recognizes county awards and holiday service totals

The Board unanimously approved resolutions expressing appreciation to Anthony J. Romanello and to Robert H. Witte Jr. for their decades of public service. Mr. Romanello and Mr. Witte each spoke briefly to thank the Manager, Board and family members in attendance.
County Manager John A. Vithoulkas and staff also recognized departmental accomplishments. Bentley Chan, Director of Public Utilities, was recognized with the Grand Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Virginia for the Virgil R. Hazelett Reservoir at Cobbs Creek, a 1,100‑acre, 14.8‑billion‑gallon reservoir in Cumberland County meant to secure the county's drinking water for decades. Rebecca Slough and Tanya Brackett presented the 2025 Henrico Christmas Mother, Ann McGee, with a check for $22,369.59 and reported collection totals: 441 new books, 121 blankets, 951 clothing items, 13 bikes and helmets, 556 toys, and more than 3,166 miscellaneous items; Mrs. McGee said the program was scheduled to supply benefits to about 1,600 families.
