Henrico mental‑health agency marks 25th consecutive year of CARF accreditation

Tretina, deputy county manager and chief of staff, introduced the item and the department's executive director provided the update to the board.
Laura Totty, Executive Director, and Anna Jones, who leads the agency's CARF efforts, said the department was evaluated under two CARF standards manuals covering approximately 2,600 standards and received no recommendations. Anna Jones said the milestone “reflects the department’s long‑standing commitment to international best practices and continuous improvement.” Board members congratulated staff for the achievement.
The recognition underscores the agency’s ongoing oversight of community behavioral health and developmental services. The board did not take any formal action at the special meeting beyond offering congratulations. The item will remain part of the agency's record of accreditations and personnel achievements.
