Council approves zoning changes that allow shipping/cargo containers in some residential zones

The council approved Ordinance 2024-04, amending sections of Chapters 2, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16 and 17 of the city's zoning ordinance. City Manager Schneider said “the majority of changes in Chapters 2 and 3 were related to regulations allowing Shipping/Cargo Containers in residential zones.”
Schneider told the council Planning Commission members had worked for months on the regulations and had recommended approval. Council voted to approve the ordinance by motion; the minutes record the action as AIF/MC.
