County administration recommended consolidating two existing lobbying contracts (one with Quadrant Consulting and one with Manny Lentini Inc.) into a single contract with Quadrant Consulting at an annual rate of $120,000, effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. Administration said the move would reduce annual lobbying expense by $60,000 and centralize contract dates and oversight.
"We, contract with both Quadrant Consulting and Manny Lentini Incorporated ... the proposal here is to eliminate one of the contracts, consolidate the two into one existing agreement, reduce the overall lobbying expense from $180,000 down to $120,000," the county administrator told the board. Commissioners debated the arrangement and one commissioner said he would abstain from the final vote; staff said the contracts are under contract review and will be executed consistent with counsel comments.
