Board receives audit report and discusses preliminary 2026–27 calendar and upcoming events
Summary
Administrators distributed the district audit report for board review and the principal presented a preliminary 2026–27 calendar draft; the principal also previewed upcoming finals, in-service and safety drills.
District Administrator Nancy Popp distributed the audit report to board members on Jan. 12 and asked them to review it and contact her or the auditors if they have questions or want a meeting with the auditors.
Principal Joshua Zahl presented a very preliminary draft of the 2026–27 school calendar and said he would seek information from Neillsville to attempt better alignment between districts. Zahl also reviewed recent December and early-January events and upcoming dates: MS/HS finals are scheduled for Jan. 14–15, the end of the first semester is Jan. 16, teacher in-service is Jan. 19, a regular school day is scheduled Jan. 26, the middle-school internet safety presentation in Neillsville is Jan. 26, the spelling bee is Jan. 27 and a lockdown drill is planned for Jan. 28.
Superintendent Popp noted that some positions remain open (special education and music) and thanked community donors to the Full Plates, Full Hearts program who helped clear student lunch balances.
