The Granton Area School District board voted Dec. 16 to hire Quarles to draft the wording for an upcoming referendum and authorized legal fees up to $5,500. Erica Bender moved the motion and Douglas Eichten seconded; the board approved it by voice vote.
The decision was made at a special meeting called to address the referendum resolution. President Sheryl Young opened the meeting at 6:01 p.m.; District Administrator Nancy Popp and Administrative Assistant Char Johnson were present along with four board members and 13 community and staff attendees. The board read, but did not convene, an executive session under Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(c). The board adjourned at 7:13 p.m.
