Brightwaters board approves summer events, film festival and school beach outings

Trustees approved a 'Brightwaters and Beyond' film festival for Sept. 26 and permitted Mary Jean Clarkson School's 2nd-grade field trips to Walker Beach on June 1, 3 and 4 (rain date June 5); the school will cover lifeguard costs.
Mayor Pat moved to approve a public assembly permit for a film festival proposed by Bridget Gallagher and the board approved the request for Sept. 26, 2026, at Mississippi Park Avenue. The board also approved Mary Jean Clarkson School’s request to use Walker Beach for 2nd-grade field trips on June 1, June 3 and June 4 with a rain date of June 5; the school will cover lifeguard costs.
Board members noted a number of other upcoming community events — the Kiwanis-sponsored car show (April 19) and a planned downtown market opening in the coming weeks — and thanked volunteers and local organizations for supporting events.
