DPW describes extensive winter response; village bought 51.12 tons of salt

Trustee McNulty (speaker 9), reporting on DPW activity, said crews responded to multiple events in February, with crews working overnight to clear sidewalks and downtown streets and bringing in additional crews on several dates. "Crews were brought in on Sunday, February 22, plowed and salt for a heavy snowfall blizzard event that we see approximately 30 inches," he said during the meeting.
Officials said maintenance continues for plows and spreaders, temporary cold patching will be used for potholes as weather permits, and procurement records show 51.12 tons of salt were purchased for the season. Trustees noted the snow budget has been strained by overtime and holiday/double‑time pay and that finance staff will finalize numbers soon.
