Board authorizes participation in Ohio Schools Council bus purchase cooperative

The treasurer moved the board participate in the 2026–27 Ohio School Council Cooperative Bus Purchase Program and authorize the Ohio Schools Council to advertise and receive bids on behalf of the Berkshire Board of Education for cooperative purchases of a 77-passenger conventional school bus (chassis and body) and a passenger van.
The board discussed vehicle sizing for multiuse purposes; the superintendent answered that the van would be a "standard, 9 passenger van." The treasurer noted the district will solicit bids even if it does not yet have guaranteed funding so it can proceed quickly if funds are obtained.
The motion was seconded and approved by roll-call vote.
