Board keeps solar RUA, directs attorney drafting for wind farms to be paid by projects

Highway Department representative Richard Murray told the board he would like the existing Road Use Agreement (RUA) to apply only to solar projects and proposed using Streator attorney Sheryl Churney to draft a separate wind-specific RUA. Murray said the wind project would pay the attorney's cost for the wind RUA.
The board voted to leave the current solar RUA in place and to have an attorney prepare the wind-specific RUA at the expense of the wind project. The motion was recorded as carried; the change leaves the solar process unchanged while creating a separate contracting path for wind farm road use issues.
