IDOT warns Rt. 121 will close; board asks for monitoring of 1200N detour

"[IDOT representative] Greg Jamerson" appeared from the Effingham office to answer questions and said the state would be responsible for maintaining the covered bridge referenced during discussion.
Board members raised concerns about local roads that could see increased traffic, specifically 1200N and the county line road. Commissioner Layton asked whether the state could monitor 1200N; the board ultimately included 1200N monitoring in a Letter of Understanding with IDOT. The board also said it would consider signage restricting through traffic where appropriate. No timeline for the Rt. 121 work beyond the detour plan was provided at the meeting.
