Parks & Recreation releases June events calendar; summer camp opens with 330 campers

The Parks & Recreation Department's memorandum attached to the meeting materials lists free events for June including "Movie in the Park — On Saturday, June 20, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off will be featured in celebration of the film’s 40th anniversary. The movie will begin at 8:30 p.m." The department also described the Summer Concerts series beginning June 25 and encouraged participation in the July 4 parade.
Summer Camp began Monday, June 1, and the department reported more than 330 campers will attend. Training for 35 returning counselors and 10 new counselors was conducted the week of May 26 and included CPR certification and role-playing exercises, the memorandum states. The department encouraged residents and community groups to register for parade participation and other summer events.
