FTSA reports progress on Brookline, Western Canal and Commerce Street pump station projects

Joseph Daniel told the board key infrastructure projects remain on track: Brookline Avenue sewer rehabilitation is close to completion with six problem laterals still to be replaced; the Western Canal Pump Station received a five‑year NJDEP land‑use permit on July 21; and Commerce Street pump station plumbing and electrical work are approved, pending PSE&G scheduling for energizing new lines.
"We only have 6 laterals to do, and those are the 6 problem laterals... We're hoping, possibly that they actually complete this in the month of August, but it might be September," Daniel said of Brookline Avenue. He added the NJDEP issued a five‑year permit for the Western Canal Pump Station on July 21 and that preservation easement language is under attorney review.
Daniel also said the PSE&G permanent easement negotiations for access license land are settled and a check was received in July; canopy construction and driveway work for Commerce Street have begun and PSE&G scheduling remains the final step to energize the new lines.
No unresolved project delays were reported; staff said most projects are in the "green" category and that CME was authorized to begin permitting and planning for the Shirley Avenue pump station project.
