A judge presenting the circuit court budget told commissioners that the clerk's budget "has not increased her budget proposal at all for 2027." Commissioners and staff asked about year-to-date actuals through June and how prior-year under-expenditures were being handled. The judge said some smaller categories may come in under budget while other categories — especially legal fees related to juvenile cases — have trended upward.
The commission set next steps for budget review and indicated staff would return with more granular figures during the August–October planning window.
