Newly arrived superintendent outlines five promises to guide Lawton Public Schools

Dr. Neil Weaver, who became superintendent of Lawton Public Schools in April, told viewers the district has been taking stakeholder feedback and has drafted five guiding promises aimed at improving culture and putting systems in place to support students and staff. "And we've come up with 5 promises that really focus around culture, and putting systems in place to help us, continue to improve the school district," Weaver said.
Weaver said his entry plan included in-person outreach to parents, grandparents, business leaders and school staff to understand community perceptions of the district. He said district leadership and principals have been aligned to deliver the same message and that the current strategic plan runs through the end of this school year; the district will use survey results and listening sessions to shape the next strategic vision. According to Weaver, the district has received nearly 900 survey responses so far, and staff will provide additional opportunities for public input as the planning process continues.
