Board approves personnel appointments, names poll workers and accepts aide resignation

The Shelter Island board approved multiple personnel items by consent April 20. The board appointed Mallory Clark as District Clerk Pro Tem and named Maryann Impastato and Mallory Clark as Deputy District Clerks for April 21–June 30, 2026 with a $2,400 stipend, appointed Luis Rodas as a Substitute Custodial Worker I at $30 per hour, and named poll workers for the May 19 annual meeting and budget vote. The personnel block also included approval of Kathleen M. Lynch as chairperson for the May 19 vote and training approval for Deborah Vecchio.
The board accepted the resignation of Matthew Dunning as a teacher’s aide effective May 15, 2026. President Kathleen Lynch thanked staff who have covered extra duties and remarked that Dunning "was always in the hallway knowing all the kids names with a 'high five'" and said he will be dearly missed.
