Village staff reported progress on planning for a water-system project. Steve will meet with engineering firm Willett Hofmann on Sept. 11 to review schematics that staff plans to present to the board and include in next year’s bid package. Asset-mapping of shutoffs and hydrants is in progress in Webb, Lee and Davis Heights; staff noted that numerous assets could not be located and will be addressed in a Phase 2 effort.
An Environmental Protection Agency audit of the village water system and pumphouse is scheduled for Sept. 19; Steve indicated staff expects favorable results but did not provide supporting documents at the meeting. No formal approvals or contracts were executed at the Sept. 10 meeting; the actions recorded were planning and preparation steps for future procurement.
