Bertram approves CopSync records system and switches utility card processing to Next Bill Pay

Council approved two vendor actions intended to modernize operations: a three-year SaaS licensing agreement with CopSync for police citations/reports and adoption of Next Bill Pay as the city's utility credit-card processor. Staff recommended the shorter CopSync term (three years) because of prior company ownership changes and a bankruptcy filing; council approved the three-year option from the packet.
On utility billing, staff said Next Bill Pay integrates with the city's RVS software and will reduce the current 3% in-person and higher online card fees. "This company will allow them to run it at a cheaper rate, as well as online," staff said. Council approved both vendor actions by motion and voice vote.
