"The $200,000 really just helps supplement the costs of this facility," Ryan said, noting the city opened the center in October and is still refining staffing and event projections. Nick, who staff introduced to answer questions, told the council the current goal is to break even over time and that weekends and wedding season are expected to be high‑revenue periods. "I know she did book 2 things today, including a $3,000 booking, for April," Nick said.
Ryan proposed adding a permanent part‑time event lead to assist the planning coordinator and reduce reliance on rotating part‑time workers. The council asked about whether rates would be adjusted as usage grows; staff said they retain the ability to change rates to improve cost recovery.
