Bertram approves four storefront sign grants and downtown planter boxes through EDC

The City Council approved multiple Economic Development Corporation grants to help local businesses add storefront signage and to support a downtown beautification project. Staff said the EDC had already approved the grants and presented separate resolutions for each business; council approved each resolution by motion and voice vote.
Council also approved a separate EDC reimbursement of $3,380 to purchase and install four custom planter boxes, working with the Bertram Garden Club to plant native species around downtown intersections. "This will purchase 4 custom made planter boxes, and we're gonna be working... with the Bertram's Garden Club," staff said. The motions carried with unanimous voice votes.
