Council approved a zoning change and a conditional use permit (CUP) allowing an automotive glass repair tenant, Glass Doctor, to occupy 2239 Fort Worth Highway. Staff recommended approval subject to conditions that prohibit temporary advertising signs and limit the auto‑repair use to vehicular glass and related work.
Property owner Tim Clark told council he purchased the site about 1.5 years ago, cleaned the former wrecking yard, and arranged a lease with Glass Doctor. "We bought this property a year and 0.5 ago. It used to be a wrecking yard. All the cars are gone," Clark said, and he added that the long‑term plan may include redeveloping the parcel in three to five years. The council opened a public hearing, heard no speakers, then approved the zoning amendment and CUP with the noted conditions.
The approval allows the tenant to operate under the limits described by staff; any future physical redevelopment would require separate permits and review.
