Lumberton ISD board calls May 2, 2026 joint election, appoints early voting clerk

The Lumberton ISD Board of Trustees adopted a resolution ordering a joint general election for Saturday, May 2, 2026 to fill Place #1 and Place #2 (three-year terms). The resolution sets the earliest filing date as Jan. 14, 2026 and the filing deadline as Feb. 13, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. The minutes state the City of Lumberton, Lumberton ISD, Lumberton MUD and the Town of Rose Hill Acres will appoint election officials and that the election shall be held at Lumberton Intermediate School.
The resolution appoints Alex Zernial as the early voting clerk and sets pay for the joint early voting clerk, assistant judge and clerks at $12.00 per hour. It requires paper ballots for early voting by personal appearance and for Election Day and specifies the use of the Hart Intercivic Verify voting system. Early voting in person was set for April 20–25, 2026 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and April 27–28, 2026 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; requests for mail ballots are to be submitted to Lumberton ISD, Attn: Early Voting Clerk, 121 South Main Street, Lumberton, TX 77657. "Alex Zernial is hereby appointed early voting clerk," the resolution records.
