Rockport expands Project Lead The Way pathway for K–12 computer science and engineering

Staff said Project Lead The Way courses will form a three-year pathway at the high school, expand gateway middle-school courses, and add automation/robotics and other electives, supported by grants and partnerships.
Jody Goodhue told the committee the district is building a K–12 computer science and engineering pathway with Project Lead The Way, supported initially by ESSER and other grant funding. "What we will be able to do in the upcoming school year is have a computer science pathway at the high school level," she said, listing a sequence from Computer Science Essentials to a capstone co-taught with engineering instructors.
Middle-school gateway courses have been expanded so all 6th–8th graders get exposure; staff plan to increase semester offerings so students can take two such courses per year. Goodhue credited outside partners and grant funders for the program's growth and said the district will continue to build local pathways that prepare students for college, careers, and service.
