At the end of the workshop Chair Sue Haas moved to enter three executive sessions, citing Maine statute. The chair read the statutory citations on the record and the motion was seconded; council proceeded to a roll call with affirmative responses recorded.
"Under chair, pursuant to 1 m r s a, section 4056 e, consultation with the solicitor regarding the rights and duties of counsel for the KRT appraisal reassessment contract and 1 m r s a section 4056 a, personnel matter and pursuant to 1 MRSA section 4056 c, acquisition of real property or economic development," a council member stated on the record. The council moved and seconded to convene the executive sessions, and the clerk called a roll to confirm attendance and objections.
Next steps: the council entered closed executive sessions to discuss legal advice, personnel and acquisition matters as allowed under state law; no substantive public action was taken in open session at the workshop beyond the motion and roll call.
