The Kermit ISD Board approved a package of technology purchases for classrooms and campus systems during its Sept. 11 meeting. Technology Director Deonna Hardaway presented proposals for an EZ Room PA System at the KJHS campus priced at $247,000.06 and Mimio Pro G interactive whiteboards for KJHS ($90,000), KHS ($95,000) and KES ($128,000). Superintendent Dr. Rodney Schneider recommended approval of each item and the board voted unanimously to approve them.
Board minutes record motions and seconders for each purchase: Trustee Miguel Urquidi moved approval of the EZ Room PA System with Trustee Edward Davila seconding; Trustee Aaron Hardaway moved the KJHS Mimio boards with Trustee Miguel Urquidi seconding; Trustee Edward Davila moved approval of the KHS Mimio boards with Trustee Ricky Morales seconding; and Trustee Ramiro Antillon moved approval of the KES Mimio boards with Trustee Edward Davila seconding. The combined total for the four line items is $560,000.06 as recorded in the minutes.
