Kathleen Lynch was re-elected president of the Shelter Island Union Free School District Board of Education on July 15, 2026, following roll‑call voting that recorded six yes votes and one absence for Anthony J. Rando. The District Clerk, Jacqueline Dunning, administered the Oath of Office to newly elected member Dawn Hedberg earlier in the meeting.
The board also elected Margaret Colligan as vice president in a unanimous roll call (6–0, Rando absent). After the vote President Lynch administered the Oath of Office to Colligan and took the gavel. The meeting record shows each motion carried unanimously when votes were taken; the board adjourned at 6:32 p.m. and scheduled its next meeting for Aug. 26, 2026.
