The Shelter Island Board of Education approved its consent agenda May 11, carrying motions on minutes, personnel, programs, finance and business contracts.
Personnel approvals included updating poll-worker pay to $170 per day, hiring an additional substitute teacher for 2025-26 at $125 per day pending fingerprint clearance, and acceptance of the resignation of Director Todd Gulluscio (effective June 30). Program approvals included CPSE/CSE/504 recommendations for the current and coming school year and summer services. Finance items cleared included appropriation and revenue status reports and transfers and journal entries for March 27' May 4, 2026. Business items approved a July 1, 2026' June 30, 2027 agreement with Comprehensive Therapy Services, PLLC for student services and a May 1, 2026' April 30, 2036 intermunicipal agreement with the Town of Shelter Island for playground management and maintenance on School Street.
Most motions carried unanimously; the personnel motion accepting Gulluscio's resignation carried with one recusal by Anthony Rando.
