Board closes Sylvester Manor site-plan hearing after consultants and neighbor raise environmental and procedural concerns

A continuation of the site-plan review for Sylvester Manor Educational Farm (SMEF) drew technical recommendations from Town consultants and objections from a nearby neighbor before the Board closed the hearing.
Theresa Masin of Hamptons Environmental Land Planning urged final grading and drainage plans and a revegetation plan for new plantings, reiterating concerns about ADA parking proximity to wetlands. Katelyn Kaim of PW Grosser said the current stance is to prohibit parking within the Town-regulated wetland area; SMEF representative Julia Brennan responded that ADA and operational needs justified specific parking accommodations and requested coordination between counsel for the Town and SMEF. Neighbor Michael Gaynor urged the Board to reconsider prior approvals and return the application to the Zoning Board of Appeals; Town Attorney Rick Whalen advised that "the ZBA determination is final and not subject to reconsideration." The Board closed the hearing to deliberate.
Councilwoman Elizabeth Hanley recused from the matter because of service on the SMEF committee; Councilman Benjamin Dyett also recused for a substantial connection and left the room during discussion.
