Board members debated and voted on officer nominations following the executive session. Trustee David Slattery nominated Trustee Courtney Anderson for Board President; Trustee Chris Earnest seconded. That nomination failed 4-3, with Trustees Walker Agnew Jr., Caroline H. Bennett, Jennifer Hyland and Shannon Mahan voting against the nomination. Trustee Caroline H. Bennett then nominated Secretary Shannon Mahan for Board President; Trustee Jennifer Hyland seconded. That nomination passed 4-3, with Trustees Courtney Anderson, Chris Earnest and David Slattery opposed.
After the presidential vote, Trustee Agnew Jr. was elected Board Secretary and Trustee Bennett was elected Board Vice President; both officer votes were unanimous (7-0). The officers will assume their roles immediately; the minutes record the vote tallies and the new officer slate.
