Bronxville trustees approve $1 million for multi-year sanitary sewer lining

Village Administrator Jim Palmer told trustees the village had completed three phases of sanitary sewer lining and received partial reimbursement from the Department of Environmental Facilities, and that the board was being asked to allocate an additional $1,000,000 for further lining work. Palmer said the work would prioritize the Midland/Valley drainage basin and other neighborhoods (Hamilton and Sussex, Holmesdale, Locust areas and east-side streets) and that televising lateral lines is recommended for homeowners to check for clay-pipe deterioration.
Palmer described the program as multi-year: the additional $1,000,000 would fund roughly two years of work; bids and specifications will be prepared and streets prioritized. Trustees moved and approved the allocation on voice vote during the meeting.
