During the Nov. 17 public hearing Communications Specialist Kayleigh Whitsel announced the district's November R.O.A.R. (Rockdale Outstanding Actions Recognized) recipients. She said Melanie Moody, a third grade teacher at Rockdale Intermediate School, received three nominations, including praise such as "She is great with the kids and an outstanding teacher" and "You are so dedicated to your students. You are always finding ways to reach students."
Whitsel also recognized Rakasia Buhl, a 7th grade math teacher and coach at Rockdale Junior High School, noting three nominations that included: "I love watching her teach - I get to see her grow stronger every day! She's not afraid to try new things." The Board's acknowledgment of staff honors classroom and coaching contributions; no follow-up action or personnel changes were announced during the hearing.
