Alderman Lehman supported the city helping to coordinate and described a permitting approach used in North Kansas City that required a garage‑sale permit and limited the time signs could remain, saying that permits helped keep streets from becoming cluttered and allowed the city to manage signage. The mayor asked the residents to leave contact information and said staff would follow up; he also asked the board for consensus to promote the sale via the city website, social media and possibly utility-bill inserts, and the board agreed to provide that support.
