Council approves $52,500 increase for finance consultant; one councilmember objects

The motion passed by roll call with four councilmembers voting in favor and one voting no.
Staff said the original contract was approved by the city manager for up to $25,000 to start the consultant quickly; the amendment would let the consultant provide additional services at an hourly rate for tasks not in the original proposal. Councilmembers said the consultant will begin work promptly once the contract is executed and that the ad hoc committee will be engaged about priorities and deliverables.
