SRO Bill Rollins presented a school safety update to the Mason Consolidated Schools Board of Education on Oct. 1, describing multi-year improvements to equipment, training and facilities. Rollins told the board the district has introduced "go bags" in every classroom and has continued regular practice drills to improve response readiness.
The board did not vote on new safety funding at the meeting but discussed contracting additional assessments for outdoor spaces later in the agenda. The update followed a board overview of operations and preceded approval of a revised Emergency Operations Plan earlier that evening.
