Board accepts $120,000 donation to restore Bronxville historic street signs

The Village of Bronxville Board of Trustees voted to accept a $120,000 donation from the Bronxville Historical Conservancy to support phase 2 of restoring historic street signs.
Trustee Bill Fredericks described the project background and goals: "The first resolution is to accept a donation from the Bronxville Historical Conservancy, in the amount of a $120,000, to support Bronxville Village's completion of what I think we've referred to as phase 2 of the upgrading of our historical street signs in the village." He said the work will repair or replace signs and mounting brackets and restore the look of the signs in the village's distinctive green.
Trustees moved and seconded the resolution and the board approved the donation by voice vote.
Why it matters: The gift funds preservation of local streetscape character and reduces the immediate financing burden on village coffers, and the project will replace damaged poles and improve the historical appearance of signage across public intersections.
