The Port Huron Area School District Board of Education adopted preliminary appropriations for fiscal 2026–27 and approved third-quarter budget amendments for 2025–26 following a public hearing on June 22.
CFO Kate LaFore presented the district's third-quarter amendments for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, and the preliminary 2026–27 budget during the public hearing. The board then adopted resolutions amending appropriations for fiscal 2025–26 and adopted preliminary appropriations acts for the General Fund, Food Service Fund and Student Activity Fund. The board set the 2026–27 tax levies at 18.0000 mills (operating), 2.6200 mills (debt) and 0.9935 mill (sinking fund).
Motions to adopt the amendments and the preliminary budget passed unanimously among members present (5 yea, 0 nay, 2 absent). Ann Murphy and Frank Partipilo were recorded as movers or seconders on the budget motions. The board's action establishes the district's spending framework pending final adoption later in the budget process.
