Town Board authorizes Supervisor to execute Ulster County solar grant agreement

Marlborough approved an inter-municipal agreement with Ulster County to accept funds for installing solar panels on the community center roof and authorized the Town Supervisor to execute the grant agreement.
At its Jan. 2 special meeting the Town Board adopted Resolution #26 to accept an Ulster County award to install solar panels on the roof of the Town community center at 1520 Route 9W and to execute a Solar and Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Grant inter-municipal agreement. Councilman Cauchi offered the resolution and Councilman Zambito seconded; the board voted yes unanimously.
The resolution finds the execution and administration of the Agreement a Type II action under 6 NYCRR 617.5(c)(15) and states that "the Town Supervisor is hereby authorized to execute the Agreement and is designated as an Authorized Person under the Agreement to act on behalf of the Town in all matters related to the Agreement." The resolution also identifies the County of Ulster as the grantor and describes use of awarded funds to pay costs of installation of solar panels on the community center roof. The minutes record a unanimous vote in favor of authorizing the Supervisor to act on behalf of the Town.
