Supervisor reports DPW progress, development prospects and grant applications
Summary

Supervisor Corcoran provided several operational and development updates at the Oct. 28 meeting. He said the DPW project is advancing: "The footings are all in, they have started the walls for the garage bay area in the back. We are now waiting on Central Hudson to disconnect the gas lines and hook up transformers for electric to the trailers." He also said the town plans to add extra parking at the Police Station and that American Cruise Lines is still expected at the riverfront.
Corcoran said the town has two major resorts coming through the Planning Board and that town officials have been in contact with a property owner, Mr. Jamal, about bringing an urgent care facility and a 55-and-older development to the town. He stated he applied for two grants to help with the DPW project: one from Senator Hinchey for $200,000 and one from Jonathan Jacobson for $250,000, and that all paperwork had been submitted to the state.
Board members did not take final action on the DPW project funding at the workshop; the supervisor’s remarks record expected grant amounts and project status pending utility work and grant outcomes.
