Conservation Advisory Committee asks board to sponsor climate outreach with CCE; cites tree plantings

Mici Simonofsky, chair of the Town of Marlborough Conservation Advisory Committee, reported on Nov. 25 that the CAC is working with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County (CCEUC) to prioritize areas of need using a shared spreadsheet and to distribute public-education materials prepared by CCEUC.
Simonofsky said the committee will receive 150 rack cards for disaster-preparedness outreach and expects CCEUC-provided social-media graphics for 12 posts; she asked the Town Board to adopt a resolution continuing cooperation and posting 11 additional social-media items over the next 11 months to secure points toward Bronze Climate Smart Community certification. She also noted six trees recently planted at Sands Avenue Park and the Presbyterian Church open space.
