The Town of Marlborough formally accepted a $20,985 donation from Marlboro Youth Baseball & Softball toward the Youngs Park lighting project at the Oct. 28 workshop meeting. Councilwoman Sessa read the correspondence from the organization and the board approved Resolution #84 to accept the donation.
Supervisor Corcoran described the project’s funding plan on the record: "This project will cost an estimated $200,000.00. The Town will get $100,000.00 from the grant, $20,985.00 from Marlboro Youth Baseball and Softball and the rest will come out of our Parks and Recreation Fund." Representatives from Marlboro Youth Baseball & Softball presented a check to the board during the meeting.
The formal resolution cites the town’s donation policy and records the recorded vote with Councilman Molinelli and Councilwoman Sessa voting Yes, Councilman Cauchi and Councilman Zambito recorded as absent in the resolution text, and Supervisor Corcoran Yes. The board did not discuss changes to the project scope at the meeting.
