Viborg council approves ordinance transferring contingency funds into operating accounts

The Viborg City Council on Jan. 13 approved Ordinance #2024-07 to transfer money from the contingency fund into multiple operating accounts. The motion, made by Councilmember Shelley DeJong and seconded by Ross Frederickson, passed on a roll-call vote with all members voting in favor.
The ordinance reallocates contingency dollars into the Finance Officer Fund, Planning Commission Fund, Advertising & Publishing Fund, Health & Welfare Fund, Sanitation Fund, Culture/Recreation Fund, Parks Fund and Recreation Fund. Finance Officer Brandy Skonhovd was present for the vote and provided the fund list to council. The transfer is intended to place appropriations into the accounts that incurred or are expected to incur expenses, according to the meeting minutes.
The council approved the ordinance during regular business after reviewing warrants and prior meeting minutes. No dissenting votes were recorded; the motion carried.
