The Mabank City Council opened a public hearing on Jan. 13 to consider rezoning Property ID 16819 from Agriculture to Single Family Mobile Home and rezoning Property IDs 15581, 15625, 15633 and 15641 to Multi-Purpose Commercial, as well as the annexation of those parcels into the city. Mayor Randy Teague opened the hearing; no public comments were recorded and the hearing was closed later in the meeting.
Following the hearing, Mayor Pro-Tem John Chappell moved to rezone Property ID 16819 to Single Family Mobile Home with the approved sale of the property; Councilman Joey Rich seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem Tyson Adams then moved to rezone the four other property IDs to Multi-Purpose Commercial and to annex property at 162508 HWY 175; Councilman Rich seconded the annexation motions and each measure passed unanimously. The council recorded the outcomes as approvals of rezoning and annexation with no nay votes.
