The board approved a preconstruction services and general construction agreement with Robellin Contracting Inc. on Jan. 15 for $213,212 to start preconstruction work on neighborhood J and neighborhood K schools and related district support facilities. Superintendent Dr. Nicholas introduced Adam Villacara, the principal lead for multiple projects, who described the preconstruction scope as the work needed to obtain cost estimates and to prepare a construction contract for the neighborhood J school.
Trustees moved, seconded and approved the contract unanimously. The contract covers preconstruction coordination for the 19-acre site (including six acres intended for fields) and other district support needs; administrative staff said further negotiation and board approvals will follow once a full construction contract is developed.
