The Hasbrouck Heights Land Use Board met Sept. 3 at Council Chambers, 320 Boulevard, and opened the meeting with a reading of the Sunshine Law. Chairman Henry Dobbelaaar read the notice that the meeting will take place under Public Law 1975, Chapter 231 — the "OPEN PUBLIC MEETINGS ACT."
The board approved the minutes of the Aug. 12, 2025 meeting by unanimous vote after a motion recorded in the minutes. The board recorded the withdrawal of application PB25-08 (Piker, LLC, 225 Terrace Avenue), with Board Attorney Joseph Rotolo stating, "Application PB 25-08 Piker, LLC will be withdrawn. Re-notice to the Public is required for future application submission."
On separate agenda items the board adopted Resolution PB-25-05 for HERC Rentals (50–58 Route 17 N, Block 72, Lots 1 & 15) and approved a homeowner variance, PB-25-07, for 213 Coolidge Avenue. A motion to accept the HERC Rentals resolution was made and the record notes an abstention by Member Rita Perdomo.
The board also approved PB-25-07, a variance sought by the owner of 213 Coolidge Ave. to add a second-floor addition that includes a modest 1.7-foot left-side yard encroachment to expand the master bedroom and add a bathroom. The application packet lists Rahimah Faiq as applicant and Robie J. Wood as architect; neighbor Robert Conti spoke in support. Mayor Ron Kistner moved to approve the application, and the board completed a roll call vote that resulted in approval.
The meeting adjourned by unanimous vote.
