Interim finance director presents preliminary July expenditures and revised FY26 estimate

Interim Director of Finance Jamie Harrell presented preliminary revenue and expenditure reports for July. Harrell said the FY26'27 local operating budget is $39,888,145; expenditures through July 31 totaled $1,385,575.50, leaving a balance of about $38.5 million in the operating budget. Preliminary revenue through July totaled $1,386,424.52; Harrell cautioned figures will change as invoices and revenues continue to be processed through Aug. 15.
Harrell also provided preliminary FY26 year-to-date figures: an estimated revised budget of $37,521,673.62, total expenditures to date of $37,322,397.50, and an available balance of $199,276.04. She noted that any balance in the debt-service category is retained by the county.
